a SSSSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWWW WEEK!

This is my last week before I leave for California for training before heading overseas. It's been a slow day today, as I'm sure each day this week will be slow as I anticipate Sunday's departure. There are so many things I look forward to about my trip, that to stop and mention them all would take more time than is available.

Tonight I'm going to hear an experienced teacher give a testimony of his time in Russia. This should be beneficial to my upcoming adventure. Notes, get ready to be taken! :)

DESTINATION: CHEREPOVETS

I am going to Cherepovets, Russia for the summer!
Cherepovets is the largest city in Volgoda Oblast, Russia, located on the bank of the Rybinsk Reservoir of the Sheksna River, a tributary of the Volga River.

I leave for Los Angeles on Father's Day (June 19) morning for training at William Carey International University where I will be for a week before heading for Russia. I will be there teaching for 5 weeks and will return to the states August 3, just in time to prepare for my 7th year at Conway Christian, teaching 4th grade.

Life is interesting as we make plans and prepare for things that we expect will go as we plan. God has been good to allow all the details to fall into place as the days have gone by. As this past week was getting underway, we got news that my father's father passed away Tuesday night. I'd appreciate your prayers for our family as the memorial service will be the same weekend that I am heading to California for the beginning of training.

Still, God is in control despite our planning and preparation.

More to come!
